Hugh Montgomery, 2nd Viscount Montgomery
Hugh Montgomery, 2nd Viscount Montgomery, was born in 1597 son of Hugh Montgomery, 1st Viscount Montgomery of the Ards, Ireland, and Elizabeth Jane Shaw. He died in 15 November 1642 after spending much of his fortune on his troops.
He married Jean Alexander,〔Memorials of the Earl of Stirling. vol.I. pp.249-251. http://archive.org/stream/memorialsofearlo01rogeuoft#page/248/mode/2up〕 and had four children (Hugh Montgomery, 1st Earl of Mount Alexander, James Montgomery, Elizabeth Montgomery and Henry Montgomery.
Hugh Montgomery's widow, Lady Jean Alexander, remarried after his death to Major-General Robert Monro, and died in the autumn of 1670.
